We began making preserves primarily for our own use and as a way to extend the life of our fresh produce. After several bumper crops and many preserving sessions, it soon became apparent that we couldn’t possibly eat everything from one season to the next. We had plenty to share, so what started out as a hobby soon grew into a small business. We have a number of local outlets for our preserves and this part of our business is still growing.
We are very fortunate that our temperate climate and pollution free environment is conducive to growing just about anything. All of the fruit and vegetables used in our preserves are 100% estate grown (and if they’re not - they come from a neighbour!) and all are grown without the use of any chemicals. The only fertiliser we use is from our own chickens.
